Troop Elections, Troop meeting, Thursday, Sept. 24, 7:30pm

  Troop elections will be held this Thursday. If you wish to run for PL or SPL be sure to contact Seamus before Thursday. Also please remember to bring in your troop position applications for Mr Kulins. If you have not done already please remember to bring your dues payments.

  This year’s dues of $100 is due and can be paid this Thursday at the troop meeting. It can be paid in full, ½ now ½ later or $20 per week till paid via cash or check made out to “BSA Troop 577”. The troop needs these funds to keep running so please be sure to pay your dues promptly.

   Honor Court patrol assignments will be be given out this week

   Please remember to bring any assigned equipment from this past weekend's camping trip.


Merit Badge Workshop, Saturday, Sept. 26, 9am-1:30pm

The council is having another merit badge workshop on this day. The merit badges to be offered are Chemistry, First Aid, Public Speaking and Robotics. The cost is $25, online signup can be found HERE. Be sure to get a blue card from Mr Kulins and check for PreReqs.


Fund Raising Opportunity, Merrick Street Fair, Sept. 26-27

Mr Harrington is looking for scouts to help out with popcorn sales at the Merrick Street Fair. Please talk to Mr. Harrington for details.


Service Opportunity, Cub Scout First Aid Demo, Tuesday, Oct. 6

Mr Harrington is looking for scouts to help out with a first aid demo for his Cub Scout Pack. This is a great opportunity for EDGE training. It is also a great opportunity to show these younger scouts what a great troop we have. Please talk to Mr. Harrington for details.

All parents and family be sure to join us in recognizing all the hard work and  achievements attained by all the boys these past few months


Scout and Scouter Training Opportunities

Pine Tree Training: Fishing, Oct. 3, 8:30am to 1:00pm

Open to all Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and Ventures. Hands on fishing program designed to stimulate the love of fishing. All the requirements for the fishing Merit Badge will be gone over and we’ll try our luck on Deep Pond. You will need to bring a fishing pole and a lunch.. Anybody over the age of 16 must have a New York State fishing license. Price $6. Online registration is HERE.

Pine Tree Training: BB Gun, Oct. 10, 8:30am to 1:00pm

Come out and enjoy a fun-filled morning, afternoon, or all-day shooting Crossman .177 cal Pellet rifles. Webelos and Boy Scouts.  Price $4. Online registration is HERE.


Den Chief Training, Saturday, Oct.10.

Scouts learn how to assist with Cub Scout packs, a great way to increase or ranks. More details to come.

Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills, Oct. 17-18

This is an outdoor training intended to prepare you for implementing the outing in scouting. It is the follow up to Scoutmaster Fundamentals and will be held at Schiff Scout Reservation. The $37 cost for the weekend includes all food and training materials. Online registration is HERE.
