Open House, Troop Meeting, Thursday, Oct. 22, 7:30pm

The troop will be welcoming potential new scouts at this week’s troop meeting. Be sure to dress in Full Class A and be on time. Look sharp, be sharp, keep a smile on your face and have fun!


Sock Drive for Veterans, Troop Meeting, Thursday, Oct. 22, 7:30pm

The troop will be collecting all style of new socks to be distributed to veterans on Long Island. Please bring what you can to tonight’s and or next week's troop meeting. Contact Mrs. Kulins with any questions.


Camping Equipment Return, Troop meeting, Thursday, Oct. 22, 7:30pm

Anyone assigned to take care of any equipment from this past weekends trip please be sure to clean and dry it well and bring it to the regular troop meeting this week.


Yearly Dues, Troop meeting, Thursday, Oct. 22, 7:30pm

If you have not done already please remember to bring your dues payments.

This year’s dues of $100 is due and can be paid this Thursday at the troop meeting. It can be paid in full, ½ now ½ later or $20 per week till paid via cash or check made out to “BSA Troop 577”. The troop needs these funds to keep running so please be sure to pay your dues promptly.


Activity Night, Troop meeting, Thursday, Oct. 29, 7:30pm

The troop will be watching a movie at the regular troop meeting this night. Popcorn, pizza and drinks will be served.


West Hills Camping Trip, Nov. 14-15

The troop will be overnight camping at West Hill Park in Mellville on the weekend of Nov. 14 - 15. We will be inviting Webelos to camp with us and Bears to visit for the day. Please try to make this trip it is a great chance to show these potential scouts what a great troop we have. More details to follow.


Merit Badge Workshop, Saturday, Nov. 14, 9am-1:30pm

The council is having another merit badge workshop on this day. The merit badges to be offered are Electronics, Animation, Signs Signals & Codes, and Medicine. The cost is $25, online registration is not open yet. Be sure to get a blue card from Mr Kulins and check for PreReqs.


Scout and Scouter Training Opportunities


Pine Tree Training: Archery, Nov. 14, 9:00am to 1:00pm

Open to Webelos and Boy Scouts.Come out learn or practice your archery skills at Schiff Scout Reservation in Wading River and earn the Pine Tree Archery Patch.  Price $4. Online registration is HERE, flyer for this program is HERE.


Pine Tree Training: Orienteering, Nov. 14, 9:00am to 1:00pm

Open to Webelos and Boy Scouts.Come out learn or practice your orienteering skills at Schiff Scout Reservation in Wading River and earn the Pine Tree Archery Patch.  Please bring an orienteering compass. Price $4. Online registration is HERE, flyer for this program is HERE.
