West Hills Camping Trip Equipment Return, Dec. 3, 7:30pm

If you were assigned equipment to clean and have not returned it please be sure to clean and dry it properly and bring to the troop meeting this week.


 

Wreath Sale Delivery, Friday, Dec. 4, 7:30am

Our wreath order is being delivered Dec. 4, 7:30am, adult help will be needed to accept delivery.  Anyone who can assist at the post for any amount of time to sort and tag orders is appreciated.

We ask anyone who has an order to please come pick it up in a timely manner. Those who cannot come during the day your orders will be on the side of the building. Please check and recheck your orders before taking them

Wreath Sale, Saturday, Dec. 5, 10am-2pm

The troop will be selling wreaths in front of the Legion Hall from 10am till 2pm or earlier if we sell out. Sign up for a shift at the troop meeting this Thursday.


 

10 Commandment Hike Evaluation

Dear Hikers:

We hope that you enjoyed the Ten Commandment Hike last week in Rockville Centre.  Many of our committee members had the opportunity to speak with some of you and received positive feedback.

We would appreciate it if you would take a moment to fill out the evaluation form HERE and email it back to hike2015@ijjs.net your feedback will help us to improve and plan our 2016 hike which will be our 20th.

Sagamore Hill Day Trip, Saturday, Dec. 12

The troop will be hike doing day hike at Sagamore Hill, in Oyster Bay, the former home and grounds of President Theodore Roosevelt our BSA council’s namesake. We will tour the house and hike the grounds, which includes a nature trail. The link to the official Sagamore Hill website is available HERE. We will depart from Newbridge Rd. School at 8:00 am, cost is $10 per scout and adult. Anyone attending should bring a bag lunch with them. The permission slip is available HERE. Contact Mr Massoni with any questions.


 

Scouting Bowlathon, Sunday, Dec. 13, 1:30 - 3:30

What could be more exciting than an afternoon bowling with the family!?!?!?  This fun event is being held Sunday, December 13th from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM at Levittown Lanes (South) in Levittown.  There will be food, raffles, and much more available!  $20 per person gets you shoes, pizza, soda, and two hours of bowling fun!  Proceeds benefit the Scouting program right here in Nassau County.

OA Wulihan Chapter Meeting, Wednesday, Dec. 16, 7:30pm - 10:00pm

Just a reminder the OA will be having a meeting this night.


 

Merit Badge Workshop, Saturday, Dec. 19, 9am-1:30pm

The council is having another merit badge workshop on this day. The merit badges to be offered are Veterinary Medicine, Inventing, Art, and Dentistry. The cost is $25, online registration opens Dec 4. Be sure to get a blue card from Mr. Hanley and check for PreReqs.


 

Buckskin Lodge 67th Annual Banquet, Dec. 29, 6pm to 10pm

Join us as we celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Order of the Arrow and as we celebrate our recipients of the Vigil Honor and the Centurion!  This event is for OA members and is being held at the Crest Hollow Country Club. Cost is $35 for Youth Arrowman and $45 for Adult Arrowman and guests. Registration is available HERE.


 

Scout and Scouter Training Opportunities

 

Pine Tree Training: Orienteering, Saturday, Dec. 5, 9:00am to 1:00pm

Open to Webelos and Boy Scouts.Come out learn or practice your orienteering skills at Schiff Scout Reservation in Wading River and earn the Pine Tree Archery Patch.  Please bring an orienteering compass. Price $4. Online registration is HERE, flyer for this program is HERE.

 

Den Chief Training, Saturday, Dec. 5, 9:00am to 1:00pm

Scouts learn how to assist with Cub Scout packs, a great way to increase or ranks. More details to come. Training will be held at Kellenberg Memorial High School, 1400 Glenn Curtiss Blvd

Blue Nose Training, Sunday, Dec. 6, 12:30pm to 5:00pm

This cold-weather camping training course, open to both Scouts and adults, is being held Sunday, December 6th at Chaminade High School in Mineola.

  During this afternoon course, you will learn the basics of cold-weather camping, and gain lots of knowledge and preparation for those upcoming chilly weekend trips! This course is also required for those Scouts and adults who plan on attending the Blue Nose camping weekend in February. Training is valid for 2 years so if you want to attend Bluenose make sure you are up to date

  Note that although Scouts must have attained the rank of First Class or be 13 years old to attend the camping weekend, ANY Scout may attend this training class.Cost is $3 per person. Click HERE for the flyer and click HERE to register online.
