OA Wulihan Chapter Meeting, Wednesday, Dec. 16, 7:30pm - 10:00pm

Just a reminder the OA will be having a meeting this night.


 

Honor Court, Troop meeting, Thursday, Dec. 17, 7:00pm

All parents and family be sure to join us in recognizing all the hard work and  achievements attained by all the boys these past few months.

Spartans patrol is responsible for fruit & chips, the Nuclear Pandas for Drinks and more, please check with Mrs. Leisenring ASAP, if she hasn’t already let you know.


 

Merit Badge Workshop, Saturday, Dec. 19, 9am-1:30pm

The council is having another merit badge workshop on this day. The merit badges to be offered are Veterinary Medicine, Inventing, Art, and Dentistry. The cost is $25, online registration is HERE. Be sure to get a blue card from Mr. Hanley and check for PreReqs.



Night at the Movies to see STAR WARS: The Force Awakens, Tuesday Dec. 22, 5:30pm

The troop will be going to see the new Star Wars movie next Tuesday Dec. 22 at the Merrick Cinema. Friends and family are welcome to attend. Price will be $10 per person for the movie a drink and a popcorn. The permission slip available HERE is due at the troop meeting this week, Dec.17. Contact Mr. Harrington with questions.


 

Buckskin Lodge 67th Annual Banquet, Dec. 29, 6pm to 10pm

Join us as we celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Order of the Arrow and as we celebrate our recipients of the Vigil Honor and the Centurion!  This event is for OA members and is being held at the Crest Hollow Country Club. Cost is $35 for Youth Arrowman and $45 for Adult Arrowman and guests. Registration is available HERE.


 

Camp Nooteeming Cabin Camping Trip, Jan. 8-10

The troop will be cabin camping at West Hill Park in Salt Point, NY this weekend, Dec. 8 - 10. We will be leaving from Newbridge Road School at 7pm Friday night. Maybe we will get a cold spell and some snow for sleigh riding. Cost will be $25 per scout and adult. The permission slip available HERE is due at the troop meeting this week, Dec.17. Pequot District Aquatic Meet, Saturday, Jan. 16, 7:00am - 3pm

The troop will be participating in the yearly Pequot District Aquatic meet again. It is being held on Saturday January 16 at Chaminade High school 316 Jericho Tpke. Mineola,NY 11501. We will be meeting at 7am at Newbridge Road School and returning there around 3pm. Cost is $15 per scout/scouter. The permission slip available HERE is due at the troop meeting, Jan.7. Contact Mr. Harrington with questions.

Friday, January 22, 2016 at 7:00pm to Sunday, January 24, 2016 at 5:00pm

Course will start with BIT training on Friday which must be completed within 12 months of becoming a certified instructor in any of the NRA Disciplines. Rifle Instructor will take place on Saturday followed by Shotgun Instructor on Sunday. Each discipline will require time on the range so please prepared for dealing with the elements

 

Tread Lightly Trainer Course, Saturday, Jan. 16, 9:00am to 1:00pm

This one day outdoor ethics course focuses on motorized and mechanized recreation on both land and water. Open to all youth at least 14 years of age on the date of the course and adults. During the course you will learn the skills and methods of Tread Lightly! and at the conclusion you will have new skills and knowledge to share with others in your unit, community and home.

Pine Tree Training: Cooking, Feb. 6, 8:30am to 2:30pm

Open to all Boy Scouts and Webelos. Work on the requirements for the cooking Merit Badge at Schiff Scout Reservation in Wading River and earn the Pine Tree cooking patch. Price $9. Online registration is HERE, flyer for this program is HERE.

 

Leave No Trace/Tread Lightly Trainer Course, Feb. 19-21

This course will satisfy the training requirement for the Leave No Trace Trainer troop position. At course completion each participant will be able to offer quality Leave No Trace Awareness & BSA LNT 101 presentations. More info at www.lnt.org This program will also include a session on Tread Lightly! this will qualify you as a Tread Lightly! Trainer. More info on Tread Lightly! at www.treadlightly.org.
