Summer Camp Deposits PAST DUE

The troop will be attending summer camp this year at Onteora Scout Camp the week ofJuly 17-23. The total price for camp this year will be $435 per scout. A deposit of $100 per scout is PAST DUE. Balance payments are due on May 5 at the troop meeting or sooner, partial payments before will also be accepted. If you have any questions please ask Mr Hanley, Mr Harrington, Mr O’Hea or Mr Kulins.


 

Harriman State Park Camping Prep, Thursday, April 7, 7:30pm

ALL Scouts wishing to attend the backpack camping trip on April 9-10 must present a packed backpack at this meeting to ensure you have the proper gear and have it packed correctly.

This is your last chance for final pack checkout. You can not attend this trip without an ok’d backpack. Each scout will be responsible for their own meals this trip so please bring a food plan with you for a lunch, dinner and breakfast, team up with another scout if you wish. Also, fresh water will not be available so pack enough to drink and to cook with. Temperatures are supposed to drop below freezing Saturday night so pack accordingly. Harriman State Park Camping Trip, April 9-10 **5:30am departure**

The troop will be going on an overnight hike and camping trip to Bald Rock this weekend. This is a backpacking trip so your pack, as you will bring it must be pre approved. Also, since this is a backpacking trip you will need to pack all your own food and water for the weekend. We will be leaving from Newbridge Road School at 5:30amon April 9th. Chocolate Bar Sales Fundraiser

This is a great way to boost your scout account and to help fund the troop. Please see or contact Mrs. Leisenring (maryanneleisenring@gmail.com) if you are interested.


 

Duty to God Day (All Faith Weekend), April 8,9,10

This will be a one day event with the option for troop camping on Friday and Saturday evenings. Registration includes breakfast & lunch, patch & camping in tent sites. Cabins will be at prevailing rates if available. After March 25th registration will be $20.00 Participation will fulfill the retreat requirement for the Catholic Ad Altare Dei Award as well as other religious faiths’ emblem requirements and the TRC All Faith Award. American Legion Sign Service Project, April 16-17

Mr. Colon has asked the troop to help with repairing and repainting of some signs for the American legion. All work will be done at the Kulins house on each day between 10am-2pm. Contact Mr. Kulins to volunteer or with questions.


 

Merit Badge Workshop, Saturday, April 19, 9am-1:30pm

The council is having another merit badge workshop on this day. The merit badges to be offered are Citizenship in the Community, Robotics, Signs, Signals, & Codes and Leatherwork. All slots have been filled but if you did register be sure to get a blue card from Mr. Hanley and check for PreReqs. Merit badges will be offered during future workshops can be found HERE or for this and other council activities go to the TRC calendar HERE.


 

Pack 206 Color Guard Service, April 22 & May 27, 6:30pm

Mr. Harrington has requested scout volunteers from the Troop to perform Flag presentation / color guard duties at Pack 206’s next two pack night to let the scouts there see what a great troop we have. Please consider volunteering, contact Mr Harrington with questions or to volunteer.


 

Seamus Healey Eagle Project, April 23-24, April 30-May 1

Seamus will be holding his Eagle project these weekends doing work at the United Methodist Church in Merrick. Please save the dates, more details to follow.


 

Merit Badge Workshop, Saturday, May 7, 9am-1:30pm

The council is having another merit badge workshop on this day cost per workshop is $25. The choice of merit badges to be offered are First Aid, Digital Technology, Photography & Geography. Be sure to get a blue card from Mr. Hanley and check for PreReqs. Registration can be done online HERE. Scout and Scouter Training Opportunities

 

Citizenship of the Community Merit Badge Group, Dates to come.

Mr. Harrington is arranging for a group opportunity for scouts to earn their Citizenship of the Community merit badge. This is a great opportunity to earn an Eagle required merit badge. If you wish to participate please text Mr. Harrington .

 

Den Chief Training, Saturday, Saturday, April 9, 8:30am to 1:30pm

Scouts learn how to assist with Cub Scout packs, a great way to increase or ranks. More details to come. Training will be held at Community Church of East Williston, 45 East Williston Avenue

Pine Tree Training: Archery, Saturday, April 9, 9:00am to 1:00pm

Open to Webelos and Boy Scouts.Come out learn or practice your archery skills at Schiff Scout Reservation in Wading River and earn the Pine Tree Archery Patch.  Price $4. Online registration is HERE, the full Pine Tree schedule and more details are available HERE.

 

Pine Tree Training: Orienteering, Saturday, April 9, 9:00am to 1:00pm

Open to Webelos and Boy Scouts.Come out learn or practice your orienteering skills at Schiff Scout Reservation in Wading River and earn the Pine Tree Archery Patch.  Please bring an orienteering compass. Price $4. Online registration is HERE, flyer for this program is HERE.

 

Pine Tree Training: BB Gun, Saturday, April 23, 9:00am to 1:00pm

Open to Webelos and Boy Scouts.Come out learn or practice your BB gun skills at Schiff Scout Reservation in Wading River and earn the Pine Tree BB Gun Patch.  Price $4. Online registration is HERE, flyer for this program is HERE.
