Summer Camp Final payments PAST DUE

Final payments for summer camp are due at the Troop meeting this week. If you have any questions please ask Mr Hanley, Mr Harrington, Mr O’Hea or Mr Kulins.


 

Summer Camp Merit Badge choices PAST DUE

All scouts going to summer camp need to have their merit badge choices ready by this week's troop meeting. A full overview of all the opportunities available at camp this year including Merit Badges being offered can be found HERE. The basic list of Merit Badges can be found HERE.


 

Board of Review for Rank Advancement, Time Running Short

Anyone who is hoping to rank advance for the next Court of Honor and has not already contacted Mrs. Granito to schedule a Board of Review must do so ASAP. Please call her at 516-809-6390. Make sure you will have completed your Scoutmaster conference beforehand and are in full, complete Class A uniform for you review.


 

2016 Pequott Camporee, Schiff Scout Reservation, May 13,14,15

This year’s theme is “Iron Chef”. Everyone should have been practicing their cook skills and patrols planning recipes. The troop will be leaving from Newbridge Road School on Friday night at 6pm returning Sunday around 1pm. It is bring your own for dinner Friday night. Cost is $25 a scout/scouter and permission slips available HERE are past due.


 

2016 Webelos Woods, Schiff Scout Reservation, May 20, 21, 22

We will once again be a service troop for Webelos Woods out at Schiff Scout Reservation. The theme this year is “Schiff Wars: The Forest Awakens”,and will be assisting in the running of the Fun House. Star Wars costumes without weapons acceptable. The troop will be leaving from Newbridge Road School on Friday night at6pm returning Sunday around 1pm. Cost is $10 a scout/scouter and permission slips are available HERE are past due.


 

Merit Badge Workshop, Saturday, May 21, 9am-1:30pm

The council is having another merit badge workshop on this day cost per workshop is $25. The choice of merit badges to be offered are Citizenship of the World, Salesmanship, Animation & Chemistry. Be sure to get a blue card from Mr. Hanley and check for PreReqs. Most are already sold out but registration can be done onlineHERE. Merit badges will be offered during future workshops can be found HERE or for this and other council activities go to the TRC calendar HERE.


 

Year End Family BBQ and Court of Honor, Thursday June 9

The end of our regular scouting year is coming up fast which means one last Court of Honor and our annual Family Barbecue. We are still currently in the midst of finalizing the details. The date will be Thursday, June 9 at the North Bellmore FD pavilion with a tentative start time of 6pm. The troop will be covering some of the expenses for this event but we will have a number of sides, desserts and drinks that families will need to bring. We would love to see everyone to help all the boys celebrate their accomplishments. More details to follow.


 

Updated Medical Forms due Thursday, June 9

All scouts especially those attending summer camp must  have updated medical forms in by the end of year BBQ. All scouts should have the parts A, B & C of the latest form, found HERE filled out. Please have 3 copies of the forms and 3 copies of your insurance card and give to Mrs. Leisenring.

OAA 60th Anniversary Reunion Retreat, Sep 16-18, 2016

Citizenship of the Community Merit Badge Group, Dates to come.

Mr. Harrington is arranging for a group opportunity for scouts to earn their Citizenship of the Community merit badge. This is a great opportunity to earn an Eagle required merit badge. If you wish to participate please text Mr. Harrington at 516-567-6763.

 

Pine Tree Training: Fishing, May. 21, 9:00am to 1:00pm

Open to Webelos and Boy Scouts.Come out learn or practice your archery skills at Schiff Scout Reservation in Wading River and earn the Pine Tree Fishing Patch.  Price $6. Online registration is HERE, flyer for this program is HERE.
