Summer Camp First Payment Past Due!!

Resica Falls Scout Reservation summer camp first payment of $100 along with permission slips was due at the troop meeting last Thursday.



Islander Game Outing, Thursday, Feb. 19, 5PM

Don’t forget the troop will be attending an Islander vs Nashville Predators game instead of having a troop meeting this Thursday, Feb. 19. We are leaving from Newbridge Road School at 5pm. Permission slips available HERE are past due. Contact Mr. Harrington with any questions.


 

Merit Badge Workshop, Saturday, Feb. 21, 9am-1pm

Council is having another Merit Badge Workshop this Saturday. For $25 boys can work on one of the following Merit Badges. (First Aid MB, Reading MB, Collections MB and American Heritage. During the last workshop several boys were able to complete their Merit Badge in one day. If you are interested you need to register online HERE by Friday Feb. 20 and contact Mr Kulins to get a blue card before Saturday. NOTE: Some MB have PreReqs, Blue Cards and Class A uniform are required. There should be another in March also with different MB, details coming soon.


 

Committee Meeting, Monday, Feb. 23, 7:30pm

There is a troop committee meeting this coming Monday at the Kulins house. As always this meeting is open to all. All parents are encouraged to attend.


 

Honor Court, Thursday, Mar, 5, 7:00pm

All parents and family be sure to join us in recognizing all the hard work and  achievements attained by all the boys.


 

The Amazing Race, Scout Edition, March 7

Have you ever imagined yourself racing around the world, competing against other teams in a series of challenges as you reach each destination, just like the TV show?  Even if you haven't, this event, taking place in and around the towns of Nassau County, will inspire and amaze you, and you'll have fun while doing it!

 

It all takes place Saturday, March 7th, starting and ending at the Cradle of Aviation museum in Garden City.  Pre-registration is mandatory and the registration deadline is March 2nd so don't delay, as the number of teams will be limited.

 

There will be patches for all participants and prizes for the winners.  A registration form with details about this exciting event can be viewed by clicking HERE.  Online registration is also available by clicking HERE.

Training Opportunities

 

Scoutmaster  or Committee Member training is coming up on March 7, details can be found HERE. NOTE: JASM's are able to take the Scoutmaster course now.

 

Den Chief Training is coming up on April 11, registration can be found HERE. It is $10 for the course.

 

National Youth Leadership Training will be held this year at Schiff Scout reservation on August 16-21.  National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) is an exciting, action packed program designed to provide youth members with leadership skills and experiences they can use in their home troops, teams, crews, personal lives, and in other situations demanding leadership of self and others. Scouts must be 13yo and First Class to attend or with approval of Mr Kulins. All registrations require a letter of recommendation from your Scoutmaster.  

The fee for this years program is $300 with a $50 deposit due at registration. Full payment is due July 18. The registration form and more details are available HERE.

NYLT training is required by Troop 577 for all senior leadership positions so if you have not taken the course please seriously consider it.
