Cabin Camping Trip Equipment Return, Jan. 14, 7:30pm

Anyone assigned to clean equipment please be sure to bring it back to this Thursday’s troop meeting.


 

Pequot District Aquatic Meet, Saturday, Jan. 16, 7:00am - 3pm

The troop will be participating in the yearly Pequot District Aquatic meet again. It is being held on Saturday January 16 at Chaminade High school 316 Jericho Tpke. Mineola,NY 11501. We will be meeting at 7am at Newbridge Road School and returning there around 3pm. Cost is $15 per scout/scouter. The permission slip available HERE is past due. Contact Mr. Harrington with questions.


 

Merit Badge Workshop, Saturday, Jan. 16, 9am-1:30pm

The council is having another merit badge workshop on this day. The merit badges to be offered are First Aid, Inventing, Chess and American Labor. The cost is $25, online registration is available HERE. Be sure to get a blue card from Mr. Hanley and check for PreReqs.

NOTE: The list for upcoming months is out and here they are, registration for each month is open the first of that month and only 20 scouts per course are accepted so plan ahead.

March - Citizenship in the Nation, Robotics, Medicine, Leather Work

April - Geocaching, Orienteering, Digital Technology, Animation


 

Committee Meeting, Monday Jan. 18, 7:30-9pm

There is a troop committee meeting Monday, Jan. 18 at the Kulins house. As always all parents are invited to attend to see what is going on in the troop and provide input.


 

OA Wulihan Chapter Meeting, Wednesday, Jan. 20, 7:30pm - 10:00pm

Just a reminder the OA will be having a meeting this night.


 

Hofstra Men's Basketball Scout Day, Saturday, January 23rd, 4pm

Looking for an exciting way to spend an afternoon with your Scout? Look no further than the Hofstra Men's Basketball Scout Day. Held at Hofstra University on Saturday, January 23rd, you'll be watching the Hofstra Pride facing off against William and Mary College. The fun begins at 4 PM and all Scouts will receive a free Scout Day patch.

TRC STEM Open House, Saturday, Feb. 6, 10am-2pm

The Theodore Roosevelt Council is holding open house open to all to see the new STEM lab and programs in action. The open house is at the Council office in Massapequa from 10am till 2pm. It is open to all bring a friend have fun see what science, technology, engineering and math is all about!!!

Friday, January 22, 2016 at 7:00pm to Sunday, January 24, 2016 at 5:00pm

Course will start with BIT training on Friday which must be completed within 12 months of becoming a certified instructor in any of the NRA Disciplines. Rifle Instructor will take place on Saturday followed by Shotgun Instructor on Sunday. Each discipline will require time on the range so please prepared for dealing with the elements

 

Tread Lightly Trainer Course, Saturday, Jan. 16, 9:00am to 1:00pm

This one day outdoor ethics course focuses on motorized and mechanized recreation on both land and water. Open to all youth at least 14 years of age on the date of the course and adults. During the course you will learn the skills and methods of Tread Lightly! and at the conclusion you will have new skills and knowledge to share with others in your unit, community and home.

Wilderness First Aid Training, Schiff Scout Reservation, Jan. 23-24

This 16 hour BSA training course is being held at Schiff Scout Reservation the weekend of Jan. 23-24. Cost for this course is $75. Details and registration can be found HERE.

 

Pine Tree Training: Cooking, Feb. 6, 8:30am to 2:30pm

Open to all Boy Scouts and Webelos. Work on the requirements for the cooking Merit Badge at Schiff Scout Reservation in Wading River and earn the Pine Tree cooking patch. Price $9. Online registration is HERE, flyer for this program is HERE.

 

Leave No Trace/Tread Lightly Trainer Course, Feb. 19-21

This course will satisfy the training requirement for the Leave No Trace Trainer troop position. At course completion each participant will be able to offer quality Leave No Trace Awareness & BSA LNT 101 presentations.
