Theodore Roosevelt Council is having a merit badge workshop this Saturday at the council building in Massapequa. The Merit badges being offered are Salesmanship, Digital Technology as well as two Eagle required merit badges, Citizenship in the Nation and Citizenship in the World. This is a great opportunity to finish a merit badge in one day or at least get a good jump on one of the majors. The workshop fee is $25 and you must sign up on line HERE by Jan. 23, 5pm. There is no official transportation but think about carpooling.

Farmingdale Soup Kitchen Service Opportunity, Sunday, Jan. 25
Scouts, Scouters and Families

Penne a la vodka with grilled chicken anyone?  Our main course, along with minestrone soup, and salad, are the menu items for this Sunday's, Jan. 25th, Farmingdale soup kitchen.
There are several scouts in the troop with low service hours that could really benefit from this opportunity. Remember community service in addition to being required for school is also required for rank advancement in the troop. This is a great way to give back to your fellow man so if you think you need service time please consider signing up or if you’re not sure ask Mrs. Schwartz for your times.
We will leave from Newbridge School at 11:00am and return approximately 3:30pm.  Class B's PLUS caps a must, rumor has it News 12 just might show up so look sharp!
All Scouts wishing to participate should bring permission slips from HERE to this Thursday's meeting and please give to Mrs. Schwartz or Mrs. Leisenring.   If you can email your participation prior to Thursday, we can coordinate drivers more easily (
Staff on board:
Mr. J. Sporher
Mr. & Mrs. Healy
Mrs. Kulins

Scouts, scouts, scouts!!  This will benefit scouts needing service hours

Thanks, Mrs. Schwartz

Scout Sabbath, Feb. 6 & Scout Sunday, Feb.8
Scout Sabbath is Friday, February 6th and Scout Sunday is February 8th.  Both days recognize the contributions of young people and adults to Scouting, and mark the February, 1910 founding of the Scout movement in the United States.  Scouts and Scouters are encouraged to wear their Class A uniform to the house of worship of their choice, and can contact their house of worship to see if Scout Sabbath or Scout Sunday will be celebrated at a specific time.
