Marc’s Eagle Project

Location: Garden City Bird Sanctuary

Address: Entrance is Opposite 181 Tanners Pond Rd. Garden City, NY

Date: Saturday June 22nd and Sunday June 23

Time: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  both days

The project is for the Garden City Bird Sanctuary, a Nassau County storm water basin that was made into an educational environmental center. There we will be labeling various trees along a nature trail, constructing two raised native flower beds, labeling the flowers, building a kiosk to hold the information, and replacing and staining some of the split rail fencing.

Please join us to help with whatever you can the day of the project. Sign up sheets will be available at troop meetings and honor court.

Some things to keep in mind for this outdoor project are:

  • Poison ivy is growing there, bring gloves and wear high socks or pants

  • It could be hot, so stay hydrated and use sunscreen.

  • There is also a possibility of being buggy, so bring insect repellant.

Also please bring tools if you can, like:

  • Post hole digger

  • Shovel

  • Lopping shear

  • Small clipper

  • Rake

  • Wheelbarrow
